 A biogas plant is where biogas is produced.

A standard type of biogas plant used to collect biological gas has five main components: the inlet, the fermentation chamber, the gas storage bag or tank, and the outlet and the exit pipe through which the gas is removed

 These plants can be fed with energy crops such as maize silage or biodegradable wastes including sewage sludge and food waste. During the process, the micro-organisms transform biomass waste into biogas (mainly methane and carbon dioxide) and digestate. Higher quantity of biogas could be produced when the wastewater is co-fermented with other residual from dairy industry, sugar industry, brewery industry.

  • 9.The electric power is fed directly into the power grid.
  • 10.The heat generated can be utilised to heat building or to dry wood or harvest products.
